If you’ve been around Greensboro for a number of years, you will recall old staples that have come and gone. Places like Libby Hill, Ham’s, Robinson’s, and others have gone by the wayside. One still remains– Roza Maylower Seafood Restaurant on Randleman Rd.
Since 1987, Mayflower has been churning out affordable seafood dinners at its inland location in Greensboro on Randleman Rd in the city’s south side. Located not far from I-85/29, you can get some great seafood for lunch and dinner.
Daily lunch specials start at $9.99. I visited on Tuesday to get the $10.99 popcorn shrimp platter. The shrimp came with one side, cole slaw, and 3 ring hushpuppies. For a normal human, it might have been too much to consume in one sitting, but I powered through it. The waitress also kept me filled with Cheerwine, bringing me a refill before I was even finished with the first one, and then also brought me a full to go cup for the road. Service is great. The food came out in record time. And it is never busy when I have been there, which is unfortunate for them since they are so good. Hit them up for a meal soon!
