LGBTQ Pride events have popped up across the nation, spreading into the smaller cities and towns. North Carolina’s 3rd largest city is no different, with Greensboro holding its annual pride events in September annually. 2026 marked the 20th year that the Gate City has held its own pride festivities.
Starting with just 400 people in attendance in 2006, Greensboro Pride hosts between 60,000-90,000 people depending on the year. This year was a great time for the event, with the temperature in the low 80s and an overcast with a breeze. Local businesses, as well as large corporations, brought in some great giveaways. Local non profits, churches, and political groups also staffed their own booths that lined Davie, Friendly, and Church streets circling LeBauer Park. This was also the first year a parade was held on Elm Street.
